Scan spools with a barcode scanner or your phone
Teach PrintSol a box barcode once, then book spools in and out with one scan.
On the Filaments page, press Scan spool. The popup has two modes: Scan in (new stock) and Scan out (mount / empty / remove).
Ways to scan
- USB barcode scanner: on the Filaments page it works from anywhere, as long as the cursor is not in a text field. A scan opens the popup with the code filled in.
- Phone or tablet camera: in the popup, point the camera at the barcode. This works in Chrome and Edge, and on Android.
- Typing: enter the number under the barcode.
Scan in: the first time
PrintSol does not know your boxes yet (Bambu publishes no list of its EAN codes). For a new code it asks "Which colour is it?". Pick the colour, check the net weight, the number of spools and the price, and press Remember and add. The code is now linked to that colour for your whole organisation.
Scan in: every time after
The colour and weight fill themselves in; press Add spool. Each spool is booked as sealed with its full weight.
Scan out
Choose what a scan should do: mount on a printer, mark opened, back on the shelf, mark empty (the rest is booked as waste), or remove from stock. Then scan the spool label (SP-0012) or the box barcode. A box barcode takes the oldest spool of that colour on the shelf. The scanner stays on for the next one.
