Printer issues, HMS messages and pauses
How PrintSol shows what a printer is complaining about, where the Bambu HMS codes are decoded, and what Clear issues does.
When something is wrong with a printer, its card on the Printers page gets a red border and an "Issues · n" button next to Repairs & parts. Click it to see the list, newest first.
Kinds of issue
- Printer message: a Bambu HMS message, with its module, severity and a link "What Bambu says about it".
- Bridge: the bridge cannot reach the printer, for example a rejected access code.
- Last command: a pause, stop or start that did not work, with the reason (last six hours).
- No filament: the printer is printing but the extruder sees no filament.
- Print not moving: progress has not changed for 20 minutes while printing.
- Last print: the reason the last print failed.
HMS codes
Bambu printers report problems as HMS codes such as 0700_2000_0002_0001. PrintSol decodes them with Bambu's own description table and links the Bambu wiki page for the exact code. Maintenance → "What the printers say" lists the current messages for the whole farm, and "last 14 days" shows the history.
Pauses
When a printer pauses itself (filament ran out, a detection triggered, an error), the card shows "Paused by the printer" with the printer's own reason, and Resume and Stop buttons. The pause is also posted to the Activity log as an error, so it lights up the bell. A queue task on that printer shows "Paused on the printer: …".
Clear issues
Clear issues in the popup hides the current messages. A message the printer still raises comes back with its next report, so clearing is safe. No filament and Print not moving are worked out live and disappear by themselves once the cause is gone.
