3MF projects with several plates
When you upload a 3MF project, PrintSol counts the plates that hold at least one object. When you queue the file (from File Manager or as a project), you get one task per plate, and the queue card shows "plate N". Auto-print starts the right plate for each task.
- A slice of a multi-plate project slices all plates at once.
- The time, grams and preview shown for the file are those of plate 1.
- Tasks from shop orders print plate 1 of a file. Use one plate per file for products sold in a shop.
- Go on a queue card starts plate 1; for the other plates use Auto-print.
Combine several files into one bed
Tick two or more files in File Manager and choose Combine into one part…. In "One bed from n files", say how many of each go on the bed and give the bed a name, then press Create the 3MF.
- The slicer lays the objects out and orients them, and saves the result as a new 3MF in the first file's folder.
- A new part is made from it, which you can add to a product and print like any other.
- Later, change the numbers under "Made from" and press Rebuild bed for a new version.
Combine needs a slicer where PrintSol runs. Sliced .gcode.3mf files cannot be combined, and PrintSol does not check that everything fits on one bed, so look at the slice preview before printing.
