Finance: what came in, what it cost and what you kept

The Finance page adds up every order’s own true cost per month, quarter or year, shows a forecast and lists what needs you, such as orders that lost money.

Finance is for owners and managers. It is built from each order’s own costs (filament, printer time, energy, labour, parts, packaging, shipping and fees), so the numbers match what an order shows in its money box.

Summary

  • Pick a month, quarter or year, and step to the previous or next period.
  • A 12 or 24 month chart runs from what customers paid down to profit after overheads.
  • Forecast: where the current period is heading at the pace so far.
  • Needs you: what stands out, such as orders that lost money or orders that are not costed yet. Click a line to open exactly those orders.

Transactions and sales

Transactions lists every order of the period with what was paid, what it cost and the margin. Filter on Made money, Lost money, Not shipped yet or Not costed yet, and search by order or customer. Sales shows the same split by channel, by product (with profit per print hour) and by customer.

Statistics and the Calculator

Statistics and the Calculator are tabs of Finance as well. See “Statistics: what the numbers mean” and “The Calculator”.

An order that shows “estimated” has no measured slice or print yet. Its cost is filled in as soon as it is sliced or printed.
